What is our finest fruit?
Before we moved back to WV, I was shopping for groceries at the local Kroger. There was a handwritten sign by the checkout that said:
You deserve our finest fruit…
It bugged me for some reason. The more I thought about it, I realized that I was bothered that a marketing slogan for a big-box grocery retailer was sticking in my head. I mean, the whole concept of finest fruit was in the bible first.
Anyhow, watching this video made me think of that sign – and what our/my best fruit is.
I don’t think how we dress (‘up’ or ‘down’) really matters to God. I admire many of the outfits I see on Sunday morning. But, I also don’t want people to stay away from church because they are intimidated by a perceived dress code.
